Flanders - Belgium
It goes without saying that the Flanders Fields tour will be the highlight of your trip, possibly extended with the Galipolli tour. But Europe has a great deal more to offer too. Flanders enjoys a central European location from where you can explore the entire continent. Tell us about your wildest European dreams and we will furnish you with a suitable quotation.
Here follows a description of the Belgian towns which are certainly worth a visit.
Bruges
Pure atmosphere
There are a few towns which have the gift of instantly charming you. The fairy-tale town of Bruges 'die Scone' (the beautiful) is one of these towns. The well preserved medieval town centre is positioned in the middle of a network of picturesque canals. This is the historic heart of Bruges, as it beats for the hosts of tourists. When you walk on a few streets you will be able to enjoy the refreshing tranquillity of the parks and squares. Romantic souls stroll along the Minnewater or can enjoy a ride in a horse and cart. And then there are the countless shops and restaurants ...
Brussels
International through and through
The town of European politics, of Jacques Brel, of Tin Tin and of Manneken Pis. A town of many forms of art, with a rich cultural agenda and a musical heart, utterly human. A town where luck smiles down at you ... The shops offer a wide variety: from young boutiques to international designers. And in Brussels not finding something delicious to eat is an art in itself, from simple 'moules frites' to five star menus. Brussels is a bustling metropolis which is constantly modernising. Always a real pleasure ....
Antwerp
The town home to the world famous Flemish baroque painter Rubens, the town of the diamond and an extraordinary fashion town which enjoys international fame. Antwerp doesn't just have numerous striking museums, picturesque galleries, typical streets with character and architectural gems, but it also has an abundance of green and cosy squares. Culture, history, a bustling night life and world class shops are all within easy reach. In short, a world town in pocket format.
Ghent
This beautiful Flemish town is bursting with places of interest. Tourism is truly advancing here. The architecture is impressive, both where the churches are concerned (the Sint-Baafs Cathedral, Sint-Pietersabdij Church and the Beguinages) as well as the worldly architecture (the Gravensteen from where the counts of Flanders ruled, the Belfort, the Town Hall). A visit to the various different parks, squares and museums should certainly also be on the agenda.
